The story of Hinemoa & Tutanekai
Hinemoa, a young woman of a sub tribe who lived on the western shore of Lake Rotorua and Tutanekai , a young man of a sub tribe who lived on Mokoia Island, were in love but their marriage was not favoured by the tribes. One night Hinemoa heard Tutanekai playing his flute and, guided by the music, swam across to join him. After Hinemoa's efforts to reach Tutanekai their union was celebrated.
Breakfast
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast as you chat to your hosts. Begin with a choice of teas, coffee, fresh fruit juice, cereals, yoghurt and fruit while Carol prepares your hot dish of the day which is tailored to meet individual dietry requirements and preferences. Then, if you are still up for it, toast or croissants with a selection of homemade preserves.
We use Fair Trade plunger coffee and only use free range eggs.
Breakfast can be taken in the dining room or out on the covered veranda.
